Downtown Raleigh + Dorothea Dix Park

In March of last year, we had tickets to see Mumford & Sons live (seriously one of our favorite bands) at the PNC Arena. We drove 2 hours to Raleigh and had an awesome little weekend getaway. We stayed right in downtown Raleigh at the Holiday Inn, visited the North Carolina Museum of Art, rented some scooters, and explored downtown a bit more.

We ended up eating at the Morgan Street Food Hall, grabbed some dessert at Gelato Amare, visited Sola Coffee Café for breakfast, and stopped at the Dorothea Dix Park daffodil field before heading home. I really miss photographing flowers, so this field of yellow made my heart so happy! There were also several Eastern Redbud trees that I was excited to get to photograph since they’re hot pink and bloom all over the state this time of year!!

^ the daffodil field is tiny, but still, they brought so much happiness ^

^^ this guy took a good nap while I took all the flower photos! ^^

^ Husband tried to get some photos of me with the camera.. these are the two that came out ok! Haha! ^

^^ iPhone photo came out best, I think! ^^
