I’m Laura, a 35-year-old transplanted island girl from Puerto Rico living her best life in Okinawa, Japan! I am a writer/editor for MCCS’ Okinawa Living Magazine, a photographer specializing in colorful landscape/travel images. My favorite things range from traveling around Japan, capturing moments on camera, cooking up new Pinterest recipes, binge reading all the romance books and watching K-dramas on the couch with Nova, my German Shepherd.
I left Puerto Rico in the fall of 2012 to follow my then-husband on one of the biggest adventures of my life, living abroad! I have been blogging in this space since the summer of 2012, right before we made the big move to Okinawa, Japan.
My life took a huge turn in 2023 and its the reason why this space went radio silent… but I’m almost on the other side and gearing up to come back.
