Last night, bags were packed, tv shows were watched and cuddles were made. As i quietly sneaked into bed around 11pm, i laid beside my husband and held his hand, sighing when i remembered it would be our last night together for a month. In that moment it kind of sank in. When we heard he was leaving, September was far, far away and all of a sudden it was here. You may think “oh it’s only a month” and yeah i’m lucky, some people have been/will be separated for longer but it never gets easy, saying goodbye.

It didn’t actually feel real when i dropped him off at 5:30am, or when i came home to sleep for a bit and then go to work. It completely sank in when i came home from work and saw his car in the parking lot, but an empty apartment awaited me, and especially when 5 a clock rolled around and he was nowhere to be found. It gets easier with each passing day, but the first couple of days are always the worst. So, when i’m not at work you will find me in my pj’s, cuddling on the couch eating junk food because i won’t be cooking meals for one and watching Private Practice.

I haven’t participated in Weekly Wishes for a couple of weeks now because there were no particular goals in mind, besides staying positive about my job. But this week, this month, my wishes are: (1) to stay strong, (2) to clean this mess of a house, (3) to save up as much money as possible, (4) to see my friends and (5) to get this new blog series going! I am really hoping to get back into the Weekly Wishes spirit, this way i can self-motivate myself to accomplish my goals this month! Go me!
