These are the things i am most excited about using to decorate our home.
As you all know just four months ago we moved into our little apartment in Okinawa and to be honest it needs a lot of “TLC” for it to feel like a home. During the holidays it felt a lot more “homier” but after taking down all the christmas decorations we were left with an empty apartment again. During these past four months i have been obsessing over home decor and i can’t wait to make our little apartment feel like home. While we’re here in Puerto Rico we are taking advantage of having Walmart, Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, as well as Bed, Bath and Beyond, to buy some cute things.
1. World Map – i am looking to make a “travel wall“. It will feature a big vintage looking world map i purchased at Office Depot for $7. See here. where we will pin all the places we’ve been to, as well as the places on our travel wish list. I also want to add a vinyl from Urban Outfitters that reads “We are living our adventure”. See here.
2. New Couch – this may not happen as soon as we get home but whenever we have the funds we’re planning on buying a comfortable sectional couch for our big living room and taking back the uncomfortable “government furniture” we have now.
3. Throw Pillows – whenever we get a new couch i’m going to go crazy buying pretty throw pillows 🙂
4. Chalkboard Quotes – as i had posted before i have a slight obsession with chalkboard and since i may not be able to get chalkboard paint back in Okinawa i am planning on making some chalkboard frames for the wedding and taking some of them back with me.
5. Knick Knacks – these will probably be some of the wedding decorations that i know i want to keep for myself. Planning on getting an entry way table and filling it with books, pictures as well as these knick knacks.
6. Photo Holders – not necessarily interested in making a framed picture wall but i like the idea of maybe using string and clothes pins to hang pictures on one wall or buying this from Urban Outfitters. See here.
