During our last trip to mainland Japan back in June 2018, we visited 7 cities including Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Himeji, Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Fukuoka. After our wonderful time exploring Miyajima, we took the bullet train from Hiroshima to our last stop, Fukuoka! We checked into our hostel room and then we wandered around Canal City Hakata, for some ramen and a show.
The next morning we slept in and later we ventured out to the Fukuoka Castle Ruins… we actually had no idea they were ruins so we were a bit bummed about that, especially since it was raining a lot. But I got to photograph some beautiful hydrangeas around the castle, so that made up for it!! We walked over to Ohori Park where we simply wandered around and took a break from the rain at Starbucks.
Afterward, we toured the Asahi Brewery and ended the day with the most delicious dinner at Kiwamiya Fukuoka Parco. The hamburger comes raw on a cast iron and you cook it on a heated stone right in your plate. It was easily the best meal we had the whole trip!
^^ the hydrangeas were such a beautiful surprise on this trip!! ^^
^ there was a plum orchard on the castle grounds and had to resist the urge to eat some ^

Lastly, we took the bus to visit the Fukuoka Tower but sadly it was insanely windy and rainy.
