Pin-spiration Thursdays: Modern Asian Decor

Happy Thursday! It’s been a while since i shared with you guys something that is currently inspiring me. I seriously need to get better about keeping up with these weekly pin-spiration thursdays posts. But moving on… Last week i created a Pinterest page for our store (i work at a non-profit shop that sells furniture from Thailand, China, the Philippines and Vietnam), as a way to share with our customers different ways to decorate using the asian furniture we sell! Follow us on Pinterest!

I felt so inspired, as i scrolled through the endless pinterest pages and i thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite pictures. I couldn’t decide whether to showcase the fun, colorful ones or the scandinavian/monochrome ones, so of course i did both! These pieces are a lot like the furniture we get from China! For some reason when you think of ‘asian furniture’ ugly things come to mind, but aren’t the pieces pictured gorgeous?! Of course these are very modern takes on asian decor, but i swear even the more traditional ones are beautiful. (I should probably introduce you guys to the store! Maybe i’ll take some pictures soon!) Ok, where was i? Aren’t these pictures dreamy? I don’t think i could decide between the colorful and the monochrome because i am literally obsessed with both!

If you had to choose between colors or monochrome which one would you choose?!

Hey Laura! I saw your bracelets on Instagram – super cute! I was thinking about organizing a lunch/dinner for local bloggers and was wondering if that sounded interesting to you! If all goes well, we could do it monthly. I think it would be a great way to meet new people, bounce ideas off of each other, network, and try new things on island! Let me know if that sounds good and I'll get the ball rolling. Cheers!

  • Hey Kassie! I've been wanting to do something like this for the longest time! The FB group (Okinawa Wives without Children) used to do lunch/meetups when i first got here and it was always so much fun! I met some good friends and was introduced to some awesome cafes. I had a couple of ideas for blogger meet-ups but never really followed through with them.

I also have this blog friend who organized these awesome little events in SoCal called – Bloggers Giving Back ( – and you can contact her about organizing events in other cities! On one of the events they even made carepackage of deployed service members which i thought was super awesome! πŸ™‚

I would be super interested in attending a blogger meet-up! I know a couple of ladies on island who blog! I'm also down to help you organize them, let me know!

Very nice! I would have to go with colorful… Or monochrome with pops of color in a subtle way so it won't be too much. These pics are so inspiring thanx for sharing

This is so great! Do you mind telling me who the other bloggers are? I'm always looking for new ones to read! Also, it's funny that you mentioned Bloggers Giving Back. I was hoping that these meet-ups would turn into something like that and I added the badge to my own blog last week! I think we're on the right track!! I'm excited. πŸ™‚
