Travel Gift Guide: Little City Adventures

Posted In: Christmas | Guest Post

While hubby and i enjoy a week of traveling through mainland Japan, i’ve recruited the help of some amazing bloggers to keep my little blog full of content this week. Today we should be exploring the city of Tokyo and enjoying the chilly weather. First up we have Abby from Little City Adventures with a super fun Gift Guide for the traveler in your life.

Hello! I’m Abby, I blog over at Little City Adventures where I blog about my life living in a little city, adventures in the kitchen, bits of the life that I share with my husband, and our newest adventure: preparing for parenthood as Baby Barstow is arriving June 2014. Come on over to Little City and find some book reviews, cookie recipes, and lots of fun things coming up for the Christmas season and don’t forget to introduce yourself, I love making new friends!

We all have that friend who just can’t stay in one spot too long. So what do you get them for Christmas? They don’t necessarily want “stuff” but stuff for their travels or to remember each of their adventures. I know, sounds overwhelming but don’t you worry one little bit because I’ve done all of the work for you! I compiled a Pinterest board with close to 50 gifts that will inspire your dearest and most adventurous of friends but I’ve chosen a few of my favorites to showcase for you. I don’t even travel that much and I’d love to get any one of these gifts! What do you plan on getting the world explorer in your life?

1// Chalkboard World Map, Anthropologie $168.00

For the times when they’re stuck in their hometown your pal is going to want to remember their trip. Even a non-traveler is going to love this gift, it would make a perfect piece of art for over the living room sofa. Your pal can shade in every place they’ve visited across the globe or even show off the route for their upcoming trip.

2// Whirl Traveler Necklace, ModCloth $7.99

This is a beautiful keepsake piece that will inspire any stylish traveler in your life. The vintage feel of the pendent is so pretty, I feel like I could walk into a vintage shop downtown and find a similar piece but with a much higher price tag!

3// ItalianSpanish, or French Phrase Books, Anthropologie $10.00 each

I took three years of Spanish in high school but cannot speak one solid sentence of the language, I don’t plan on traveling to a Spanish speaking country but this phrase book looks super cool and would be a great refresher. I wish I had seen this before one of my best friends left to study abroad in Ecuador last semester, it would have made such a cute gift! Pick up one of these guys for your pal who is traveling to a non-English speaking country in the upcoming months (plus it’s not too expensive!).

4// Travel Ticket Stub Diary, UncommonGoods $14.95

This is perfect for an artsy traveler who may not be quite organized enough to keep a photo diary or scrapbook (digital or real-life) because they can just throw in plane tickets, concert ticket stubs, or even menus from restaurants they visit abroad. This way nothing gets lost or forgotten and adventures don’t need to stop in order to keep the memories in one spot.

5// Visualize Victory Backpack, ModCloth $67.99

This reminds me an Indiana Jones style back pack that every explorer and anthropologist or treasure hunter absolutely has to wear. I can totally picture this being worn while hiking extinct volcanoes in South America or even while wandering the streets of Paris.

6// Leather Debossed Passport Cover, Walmart $19.99

One thing you should know about me is that I’m OCD and one of my biggest pet peeves is when papers get even one crinkle in it (seriously, I’ve rewritten pages and pages in notebooks if they got folded over or if one drop of water managed to slip onto the page). This product is the perfect solution for a slightly OCD travel so they can keep their passport looking fine and dandy while traveling.

7// Travel Jewelry Case, Nordstrom  $48.00

I find it so very annoying to travel with jewelry, maybe I should get this case to help myself out (there’s that OCDness coming out again). For a constant traveler with style this jewelry case from Nordstrom is perfect and just beautiful, that color is to die for!

I hope I was able to help you out even just a little bit with your Christmas shopping this year! Have a wonderful Christmas everybody and Laura, travel safely!

Love,
Abby
