After visiting the historic Hokkaido Government Building we headed over to the Sapporo Beer Museum. We may or may not have arrived early-ish in the morning (haha!) and felt silly drinking beer so early. I didn’t even think about it when I planned our schedule (oops).. but oh well it was 5 o’clock somewhere, am I right?
Anyways, the Sapporo Beer Museum is the one and only beer museum in all of Japan! It opened it’s doors back in 1987, to share with it’s visitors a behind the scenes look at how beer is made. The exhibition showcases the history of Sapporo Breweries Ltd. and the beer industry in Japan. The museum building shares similar architectural features to the Hokkaido Government Building, because it was also built by foreign engineers in 1890.
If you visit later in the day, be sure to check out their biergarten, which is known for their Genghis Khan barbecued lamb. We sadly visited too early, so we decided to have lunch elsewhere.
^^ This was my favorite part of the exhibition!! Vintage advertisement posters ^^ Can you tell we had fun playing in the snow?
