We had a Monday free of japanese class, so we carpooled and drove down to Naha to try one of the many cafes on my list. We visited the oHacorté location in Minatogawa Stateside Town a few months ago and when we heard about their bakery we knew we had to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by it’s big location and huge variety of freshly baked goods. They have special menus for breakfast (7:30-11:00), lunch (11:00-2:00), tea time (2:00-5:00) and dinner (5:00-10:30). We went there during lunch time, so we tried the chicken sandwich and the pork sandwich set (with soup), they were absolutely delicious, especially because they were made with fresh bread and ingredients.
Another great thing about this cafe is they have a Pantry section where they sell vegetables, canned goods, wine, jam, honey and so many items that are usually hard to find in Japanese grocery stores. Like many Okinawan cafes, there’s also an area where they sell adorable items. This one mainly had (expensive) home decor pieces.
^^ If you visit this Bakery, i recommend trying the Shikuwasa (an Okinawan citrus) Soda ^^^^ I’m still thinking about those little fruit bags and i wish i had bought one! ^^
^^ i wanted to bring one of those adorable scoops with me, if only they weren’t ¥800 ^^
Did you see the cover of the Menu Book? Apparently they have a special Sandwich menu that you can order to go and you get an adorable ‘Lunch Box’ with sandwich, salad and drink! *Mental Note taken for whenever i plan a picnic in Naha.* You can also take their food to go, something you don’t see very often in Okinawa.
