After a fail day at the gym, the girls and i decided to go to “tropical island”, the code word we use for “beach” because apparently every time we say “let’s go to the beach” the sun hears us and when we get there it’s always cloudy/windy. We’ve been trying to get our tan on for the past few weeks but Okinawa weather is bipolar. Yesterday and today were both beautiful sunny days that didn’t fall short on us.
This is Uken Beach, the lovely beach only about 5 minutes away from the base we live in :). It’s always calm and there’s never any people there, mainly because in Japan, unlike America, the trend is to be fair skinned. They are sort of “afraid of the sun”, they use umbrellas when walking outside, they wear hats that cover up their necks, but they also cover up every inch of their body even when it’s hot outside.
When i read what today’s topic was i knew exactly which moment of my day to highlight 😉
