Meet Erika the lovely lady behind Chimerikal! She’s a spunky girl who’s lived all over the world and is now working towards her masters degree in Michigan. Read her reverse bucket list and see all of the amazing things she’s done in her 27 years! Erika is the mastermind behind the blog series Grad-itude 101, that you’ve seen on this blog before (here) and has recently launched an upcoming 6-Week happiness and self-love bootcamp called ‘EveryDay Happy‘ co-taught with Melyssa. Check out the 10 reasons why you should sign up! I sent her 5 questions to help you get to know her and here are her answers 🙂
1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging for an outlet — a way to express myself — and to make new friends who had similar interests (or at least enjoyed talking about similar things).
2. Describe your blog in three words!
Thoughtful, Positive and Exploring.
3. As a self proclaimed nomad, where do you see yourself after getting your masters degree?
I’m not sure about this at all! I’m so used to moving all the time — each year, or more, really — that it’s hard for me to know where I will end up next. But I do know I want to go back to Europe at some point!
4. What lessons have you taken back with you after living abroad?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after living abroad is that different places are just like different people. They have values, they have personality, they have certain elements they bring out in you. There are some people that you are acquaintances with, some people you get along with and have a good time with, and then there are your soul mates, your deep friends who seem to be a part of you forever. Places are just like that. We should’t force ourselves to marry the city that seems kind of nice and safe and we have an okay time with. We need to find that place that makes us come alive, that challenges us to be our best!
5. Your blogposts are always so incredibly creative, where do you find inspiration for your blog?
My inspiration for my blog often comes from a mixture of observation and just thinking I’ve been doing. And of course, reading other blogs can send me thinking about some tangent which can eventually turn into a post, too. 🙂
