I’ve decided to take on this Popsugar Reading Challenge i found on Pinterest (follow me!). This is the second round of books i’ve read. I’m blogging about this pretty late because i think i already read 3 more books since these, i am really on a reading frenzy! Missed the other posts? Part 1 – Part 3 – Part 4
- A book you can finish in a day – The Duff by: Kody Keplinger
- A book with more than 500 pages – The Interestings by: Meg Wolitzer
- A book with a one word title – Wild by: Cheryl Strayed
The Duff is a super easy/fun read, i literally read it cover to cover in less than 24 hours! I can’t believe the author published this book when she was 18 years old! The book has been made into a Major Motion Picture and i thought i should read the book before seeing the movie, although after watching the trailer i already know i’ll be disappointed with the movie because they changed too much. It’s pretty much a classic high school tale of an awkward girl and a popular boy, against all odds falling for each other.
The Interestings is a 500 page book, who’s cover just caught my eye in the bookstore. I skimmed the description but didn’t really read much into it and i decided to just buy it. I’m so glad i did because i really enjoyed this book. My favorite part? The author brings the story back and forth through time (i absolutely love books/movies like that) and it also jumps from character to character; which was really interesting. You see the group of friends grow from 15-year-olds in summer camp to actual adults, through marriage/kids/travel/death the whole shebang.
Wild has also recently been made into a Major Motion Picture, and after seeing the trailer i knew i had to read the book. It’s also the first book i’m reading on my new Kindle Paperwhite! The book tells the true story of Cheryl Strayed, who after having her life become a complete mess decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from California to Oregon, alone. I wasn’t sure if i was going to enjoy this book but i did, her hiking story is pretty inspiring! Have you seen the movie?
I recommend all of these books!!! Have you read any of these? What did you think? Book recommendations are always welcome! 😉
