Crafting Away pt. 2!

Posted In: DIY | the wedding diaries
Remember that i posted a sneak peek of one of the crafts i was making for our wedding?! Well, since i’m clueless about what to blog about i guess i’ll post the pictures of the things i was able to finish before the wedding. Granted, if i would’ve had the chance to be back home more time i would’ve done a million DIY’s but sadly i wasn’t able to. The time we spent in Puerto Rico was no vacation, we were doing so many things every day i just didn’t have enough time. I was able to make a Yarn Covered Monogram of our initials, a Burlap Banner that said “Just Married”, one Thank You Frame as well as one frame for the guestbook table.

Yarn Covered Monogram:

i got the idea off Pinterest to make this and before we PCS’d i bought these white wood letters at Michael’s as well as the baby blue yarn. It’s such a simple craft and the result is just stunning. Sadly I had to buy another roll of yarn and since we don’t have Michael’s in Puerto Rico i ended up making them in two different colors. One in baby blue and one seafoam green.
I posted this picture on the ‘Home Sweet Home‘ post i made the other day and you can see the end result as it’s displayed in our apartment. 🙂

Just Married Banner:
Pinterest is also the reason for this craft. You only need some burlap fabric, a scissor, a sharpie, some letters (or you can write them yourself, i ended up using some smaller letter than the one in the picture), a bottle of fabric white paint, a paint brush (or two) and some pretty ribbon to put it all together. It’s a pretty simple craft but it does take time, so be patient.

This was the end result. Granted that when it came down to the wedding i forgot to take it with me during our photoshoot 🙁 and i was so mad about this when i realized it, but oh well… what’s done is done. I also wanted to make a similar but smaller banner for our guestbook table but did not have time for it. You can see the pin for that, here

Frames:

I wanted to make several frames to put around the venue with certain messages but i only managed to make these two. One saying thanks to our guests for celebrating that special day with us and one for the guestbook table that explained what they needed to do in order to leave a message to us. I bought both frames at TJ Maxx, the teal one was $6.99 and the big one was $9.99, i believe.
The Thank You Card i personalized it and downloaded it for free on Wedding Chicks. Note that the card looks like it has a typo but they explain it’s not, that the artist intends for it to be a word play, i used whiteout and erased the “a” because i didn’t want anybody to think it was a typo. The guestbook card on the other hand i used a picture from Google images and put the writing on top of the picture on Microsoft Word. 🙂
i hope you enjoyed this post i just put together! Our wedding CD is on it’s way to us and i can’t wait to share the pictures with you all!! ^-^
