Pinching, Drilling, Filling

Posted In: Military Life | PCS

After having horrible luck with my dental insurance back in the states (which is inexistent until the 1st of September), learning how pricy it would’ve been to get it done in North Carolina, buying a last minute plane ticket back home to get the work done, learning my new dentist found more cavities than the ones pointed out by the dentist on base, oh and in the end he didn’t take my insurance (yes, life’s a bitch). All in all it has been a stressful week. I went to the dentist for four days straight and finally got all the work done, root canal and six fillings. (yes, i know what you’re thinking)
Now i have to go to the dentist every 4 months, brush my teeth with a special toothpaste, use a prescribed mouthwash for my gums, and floss daily.
But i can finally breathe a breath of fresh air knowing it’s over, but not completely, i still have to get checked up back on base and i’m praying i finally get Dental Clearance, which will mean we can hand in all of our paperwork and wait until we can go on PCS leave back home for some actual vacations before we go to Okinawa, Japan.
*woop woop*
flying back to my husband on tuesday morning, can’t wait 🙂
