Mountain Big Buddha + Beach – Koh Samui, Thailand

Posted In: Thailand | Travel

Back in July 2016 I met my high school friend Tatiana in Thailand for a Thai Island Hopper East tour with Contiki.

On our first full day in Koh Samui, we took a jeep tour with Mr. Ung’s Magical Safari Tours. Some of our stops were the Grandmother & Grandfather rocks, the Mummified Monk, a Jungle Waterslide, Thai lunch, the Secret Buddha Garden, the lesser known of 2 Big Buddhas at the top of a mountain and ended with downtime at the beach. It was a great way to see Koh Samui!

Here’s a little recap of the end of our day:

^^ Naga snakes represent a deity, an entity or being that takes the form of a snake, usually a king cobra ^^

^^ the view from the Big Buddha was AMAZING!! ^^

^^ surrounding the buddha statue there were smaller statues representing the Chinese zodiac ^^

Before the Big Buddha temple there is a building with a sort of museum inside. You can walk up to the roof and there’s an even better view!!

We ended our tour at the beach!

… Sort of a crappy post (lol) but I needed to post this in order to continue sharing the rest of my trip!
