The Great Buddha of Kamakura

Posted In: Girl's Trip | Japan | Kamakura | Travel

The second day of our girl’s trip was spent in Kamakura! If you have a few extra days in the Tokyo area, this is a great place for a day trip!! We took the train from Yokosuka (where we were staying), but it’s a little less than an hour and a half train ride from Tokyo. Firstly, we walked along Komachi-dori, took a bus and found our way to see the Daibutsu (Great Buddha) at Kotoku-in and ended our time there at Hase-dera Temple.

IMG_8809The Buddha is hollow on the inside! It was such a cool experience, even if it was incredibly hot and humid in there.
