2015 Reading Challenge: Part 6

Posted In: Reading Challenge

I’ve decided to take on this Popsugar Reading Challenge i found on Pinterest (follow me!), as one of my 2015 New Years resolutions. This is the sixth round of books i’ve read. Missed the last posts? Part 1 – Part 2 – Part 3 – Part 4 – Part 5 – Part 7

  • A book with a love triangle – The Husband’s Secret by: Liane Moriarty
  • A book that became a movie – Paper Towns by: John Green
  • A book published this year- Emmy & Oliver by: Robin Benway

The Husband’s Secret – tells the story of 3 women who’s lives are all intertwined, but they don’t know it yet. Cecilia accidentaly finds a letter from her husband addressed “For my Wife – to be opened in the event of my death”, but her husband is still alive and she’s struggling with the choice of whether to open it or not. Tess has just found out that her husband has fallen in love with someone else and she deals with the ultimate betrayal of the two people she trusts the most in the world. Rachel on the other hand is still mourning the loss of her daughter and the life that was stolen from her.I really really loved how witty Liane Moriarty’s writing is, she made me laugh so much!! This book is really a page turner, I think i read this book in a little over a day!

Paper Towns – follows Quentin a high-schooler in love obsessed with his childhood friend and neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman. One night Margo climbs up on Quentin’s bedroom window and invites him out for a night full of fun and vengeance, of course he obliged. The next day Margo misses school and later everyone realizes she’s disappeared. Quentin takes it upon himself to find her and enlists his friends help in his mission.I read this book in high school and i really wanted to re-read it before the movie came out. I am so glad i did! 🙂

Emmy & Oliver – is also a YA book with an interesting storyline. Oliver was kidnapped by his father when he was young and after ten years is found by the authorities. He comes home and is obviously struggling to acclimate back to life in California. Emmy, his childhood best friend/neighbour hopes their relationship continues right where they left it, but how could that happen when everything has changed.

Q: Any books you’d recommend me? I’m always looking for new ones to add to my list!
